Linda Walker is promoted to Senior Vice President, Commercial, Europe, and the UK, at Warner Music UK.
She started her brand new job in December, reporting straight to Tony Harlow, CEO of Warner Music UK, and has signed up with the WMUK senior management team.
From her brand new position, Walker heads up all elements of Warner Music UK’s business-related associations with actual physical retailers and electronic services, like the impartial sector.
She’ll also oversee the activity of WMUK’s Research and Analysis Department, run by Nick Allum, VP, Commercial & Analytics, Europe and UK, which manages the gathering and assimilating of information for strategic purposes.
Her promotion follows the previous choice year of Derek Allen to step down from the company.
Allen had spent nearly a decade with WMUK, joining once the company acquired Parlophone Label Group, and also had worked for EMI for quite sometime before that.
Walker joined Warner Music in 1990 and was eventually transferred to Warner Music’s WEA division (now WMX) to allow for each Apple user throughout Europe, before rejoining the Commercial Team as Vice President in 2018 to oversee the delivery of most of Warner Music’s releases in the Europe and UK.
Warner states Walker has been “pivotal” in the achievements of several of the UK’s most recognized artists, including top records from Coldplay, Muse, Michael Buble, Liam Gallagher, Jess Glynne, Foals, Ed Sheeran, Dua Lipa, and Rod Stewart.
2021 continues to be a great year for Warner Music UK.
In June, Darcus Beese OBE joined the organization to release the joint venture label, while earlier in the entire year, Warner Music UK artists acquired a total of twelve nominations in the Brit Awards’ home-based types, the maximum of any serious.
