Innovative Yorkshire chairman Lord Patel has reportedly threatened to give up the club. And that is in the midst of a bitter civil war which threatens. To derail some improvement made in the wake of the Azeem Rafiq racism scandal.
Patel was appointed chairman back in November after Roger Hutton resigned from the job and he’s attempted to spearhead prevalent change in the club, including the sacking of Yorkshire’s whole coaching staff. As a consequence of the scandal, the ECB banned Yorkshire from hosting major or “international matches”, a move that Patel warned would go out of the club facing a “major monetary crisis”.
The club is trying to keep a member’s meeting to be able to do just that, but can see 2 meetings scrapped due to’ procedural‘ problems. The conference was rescheduled for March thirty one of course, if the reforms aren’t passed, the club risks the ban of theirs not being lifted.
“His history, brief although it’s, has been completely riddled with damage as well as mistakes that the credibility of his has gone. Yorkshire deserves to experience the very finest management and unless it gets it I shan’t give up.

Patel YCCC
“I can’t continue in this position. I’ve today told YCCC that I am going to step down working 7 days a week and just do what I is able to pro bono (as ideally the staff can get on with the job needed).
“But the problem of Robin as well as the colleagues of his still remains which feels as nobody is ready to deal with him? I feel that all the demands of his won’t fulfil ECB conditions? “However, in case it enables the club to advance correctly I’m much more than pleased to step away.” A spokesperson for the ECB said: “The ECB board is profoundly worried about accounts of division at Yorkshire CCC.
“Given all that we’ve heard from Others and Azeem about the club, it’s been utterly clear that reform is required. Lord Patel has set out a serious and significant plan making Yorkshire CCC a diverse and modern club capable of representing & engaging many towns in Yorkshire. “We should view all people work in concert to help Lord Patel in the reform package he’s set out. It’s not acceptable for anybody to remain in the way of improvement at YCCC.”
