Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green and Rep. George Santos both fled the scene of escalating protests outside the Manhattan courthouse where the former president lived. donald trump indicted on Tuesday.
Green and Santos joined pro-Trump protesters near a New York courthouse hours ago Trump pleads not guilty to 34 feloniesGreen was listed as the headliner for a rally held at 10:30 a.m. hosted by the Young Republican Club of New York.
However, within minutes of their separate arrival, both of them fled the scene after reporters and dissidents surrounded the deputies. Santos left before the protest’s official start time.
In Green’s case, demonstrators with whistles and drums drowned her shortly after she arrived at the rally.
Right-wing provocateur Green said in an interview with Right Side Broadcasting that he left the area after being “swarmed” by protesters.
“We flocked. Flocked unbelievably,” Greene told the outlet after leaving the protest.

She also said she will conduct the interview from inside her car while in New York on Tuesday. She will be there to respond on camera to the former president’s indictment by a grand jury in New York.
Green told Right Side Broadcasting that he spoke with Trump on Monday. She said the former president was “doing his best to fight this injustice,” seemingly comparing him to Jesus.
“President Trump joins some of the most incredible people in history arrested today. Nelson Mandela was arrested and served time in prison. Jesus. Jesus was arrested and murdered by the Roman government. she said.

Green previously tweeted, “Looking forward to seeing you all at Collect Pond Park in New York this morning at 10:30am to protest the political persecution of President Donald J. Trump.” Santos, who has been caught repeatedly lying about his resume, recently said on Twitter that “the weaponized justice system is targeting conservatives with political bias.”
Representatives for Green and Santos did not respond to requests for comment.
Santos tweeted to clearly defend his decision to flee the protest.
