Travelers with a positive test will also have to pay for medical expenses, according to TAT officials.
Foreign travelers are required to present their passport and visa to enter the country as needed.
Travelers no longer need to apply for a “tie pass”. Introduced in May, travelers were required to submit vaccination certificates, medical insurance and other documents prior to departure.
It didn’t take long for tourists to react to Thailand’s loose travel rules.

Number of online searches Michael Marshall, chief commercial officer of Thailand-based hotel operator Minor Hotel, said hotel reservations have also risen since July 1.
“Although it is still in its infancy after all restrictions have been lifted, since July 1st, there are nearly 10,000 new searches to search for Thai destinations from various markets. This is a very promising sign. is.”
Even before the rules changed, Thailand’s tourism industry was gaining momentum.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, the number of foreign arrivals has almost quadrupled from January to May this year. According to the ministry’s statistics, more than 1.3 million foreigners arrived during this period, compared to less than 35,000 in the same period in 2021.
According to the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand, between January and May 2022, 43% of Thai visitors came from Asia, followed by 38% from Europe.

“We expect the momentum to continue … [now that] The Thai government has lifted the final restrictions on international travelers. ”
This year, he said, the arrival of tourists to Phuket, Koh Samui and northern Thailand has increased the most.
The recovery of tourism in Thailand may be heading in the right direction, but as long as inflation, increased travel costs and rising Covid rates upset travelers around the world, the road to recovery is expected to be long. The loss of travelers from China, the largest source market, will not solve the problem again this year.
Given these headwinds, Thai authorities forecast 5 to 15 million foreign arrivals this year. This is a significant increase from 428,000 foreign arrivals last year, but far from the approximately 40 million tourists arriving in 2019, according to Reuters.
